Along with being nominated for the Rising Star award in 2018, Chalamet was nominated for Best Actor in Call Me By Your Name that same year and for the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown last year. He also received a nod for Best Supporting Actor in Beautiful Boy in 2019.

The semi-autobiographical film has earned Chalamet both a Golden Globe nomination and an upcoming Academy Award nod. The Dune actor told The Hollywood Reporter that after reading the script, he could feel himself relating to Mauser. “Knowing the grind as an actor and not being ignorant to it—my dream wasn’t a financial one like Marty Mauser’s, but it was also in pursuit of an ideal,” he told the trade publication. “It was in pursuit of a realization of a vision of yourself that you want to achieve in life.”

Normally one of the busiest actors in Hollywood, Chalamet appears to only have one project in post-production at the moment: the third and final film in the Dune trilogy, co-starring Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Anya Taylor-Joy. The sci-fi thriller is scheduled to hit in theaters on December 18, 2026.

“The gift of my life is this work,” Chalamet told the . “You want to honor it. Not in some Keynesian way—I don’t know if that’s the right economist to cite. Capitalistic is not what I mean. I mean: If you’re not going up, you’re kind of going down. ‘He not busy being born is busy dying,’ the great Dylan quote. Ooh, is that on the money.”
