Rebecca Gayheart is paying heartfelt tribute to her late husband, *Grey's Anatomy* star Eric Dane, who died Thursday after a battle with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was 53.

Gayheart shared dozens of family photos featuring the late *Euphoria* actor and the couple's two children on her Instagram Stories on Saturday morning. The photos included shots of Dane hugging each of his daughters, a birthday celebration, and family vacations.**

Under one post about the family's GoFundMe campaign, the *Urban Legend* actress wrote, "Thank you to everyone" alongside a link to the campaign.

Dane's family announced his death — which came 10 months after he publicly announced his diagnosis — in a statement on Thursday. "With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS," it read. "He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world."

The family's statement continued, "Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he's received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time."

Gayheart and Dane wed in 2004, and they welcomed daughters Billie and Georgia in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

The actress had filed for divorce in 2018, citing irreconcilable differences. However, she filed to have the divorce dismissed in March 2025, just weeks before Dane made his diagnosis public.

During a November appearance on the podcast *Broad Ideas With Rachel Bilson & Olivia Allen*, Gayheart shared how "super complicated" their relationship was amid Dane's diagnosis, and that, despite them being separated for eight years, she wanted to show their daughters "that we show up for people no matter what."**

"And he is our family, he is your father," she continued. "We show up and we try to do it with some dignity and some grace and just get through it, and that we will get through it the best we can."

"The kids live with me 100 percent of the time. And there's been lots of just stuff, other stuff," the *Jawbreaker* star explained. "I try to stay optimistic, though, about it all. I'm trying to learn from it and [be a] role model for them [for] how to go through something like this, which is really hard."

Gayheart added, "I don't know if I'm doing it well or if I'm doing it in the wrong way or the right way. I'm just showing up. I'm showing up, and I'm trying to be there for them. I guess time will tell."**
