Dionne Warwick mocks Sandra Bullock, other 'influential people' advocating for AI

Dionne Warwick is calling out celebrities who has spoken out about leaning into artificial intelligence in the world of entertainment.

Sandra Bullock recently said that the industry should use AI "in a really constructive and creative way."

Reese Witherspoon, meanwhile, wants to “learn as much as I possibly can about AI."

Dionne Warwick is keeping it real, as far as artificial intelligence is concerned.

The Grammy winner is taking aim at celebrities who are encouraging others to embrace AI. Warwick's social media post comes after Sandra Bullock said that people working in the entertainment industry will “have to lean into” AI.

"Influential people are praising AI as a wonderful tool we should all embrace," Warwick posted on X with a collage of AI-generated photos of her in various situations. She wryly continued: "On Facebook I have been to the hospital, the World Cup, cussed out Whoopi Goldberg, and I have a Netflix documentary. Wonderful, sure."

Fans chimed in on Warwick's take on the AI discord. "Ms. Warwick your REAL PRESENCE is so wonderful & rich when you interact with us that we don't need any artificial version of you without your explicit consent!" one fan wrote. "Thanks for sharing this wacky AI Facebook content..." Another said: "I am so glad a real queen is fighting AI with us!"

"Well, we *would* like you to perform in the World Cup, but these unauthorized AI images are becoming a menace," a third quipped. "We have loved the actual you forever," actor Michael McKean said, summing up the majority of comments online.

Warwick's comments come days after the CNBC Changemakers Summit, where Bullock said that the entertainment industry will “have to lean into” AI in reaction to fans' AI-generated versions of the Practical Magic 2 trailers. "We have to observe it. We have to understand it. We have to lean into it. We have to use it in a really constructive and creative way, make it our friend," she said on Thursday, per Deadline.

“We have to be incredibly cautious and aware of it because there are people who will use it for evil and not good," she continued. " I do feel that there’s a place for it.”

Bullock isn't the only actress to embrace AI. Reese Witherspoon posted an Instagram video last week, telling her followers she thinks it's "time to learn about AI."

"The AI revolution has begun, and I need to learn as much as I possibly can about AI and share it with all of you," she captioned the video. "Also, FYI: the jobs women hold are 3x more likely to be automated by AI, yet women are using AI at a rate 25% lower than men on average. We don’t want to be left behind. So…do you want to learn with me?"

In the clip, Witherspoon recalled asking a book club about their AI usage, noting that only three of the members were using AI, which "means 70% of that group is not keeping up.”

"The thing I’ve learned about technology is, if you don’t get a little bit of understanding from the very beginning, it just speeds past you. So, you have to have little bits of learning just to keep up," Witherspoon continued in the video.

"And let’s get real: Our kids are all using this every single day. I think we should learn the basics together, and learn some really good tools that are going to make our everyday lives easier and better. Do you want me to share what I’m learning with you? It’s time, people.”

Entertainment Weekly reached out to Sandra Bullock and Reese Witherspoon, and did not receive an immediate response.
